WELLNESS

WHY BLOODWORK?

Blood work and urinalysis are recommended at least once a year for many  reasons.  Depending on a pet's medical problem we may do blood work and  urine every few months. Vets can use baseline values to determine if a  problem is lurking and start treatment.  A pet may look and act  perfectly healthy, but lab work may tell a vet something different.   Many problems, if detected early and before the pet is showing clinical  signs, may be treated more effectively.   If sick, lab work results can  be compared to previous results to hopefully determine the problem.  Blood work also tells vets what medicines to or to not give and what  anesthesia to or to not use.  Why is Preanesthetic Blood work Necessary?
